  Wolfgang Lohff

Wolfgang Lohff studied Oboe with Pierre Feit and Musicology at the University of Cologne. His education in instrument making started with SML-Strasser Marigaux in Paris, where he obtained a special qualification in tuning and voicing of oboes and clarinets. Founder of the Lohff & Henze GmbH who acted as a factory agent for Marigaux, Rigoutat and Loree in Germany. He went on to study bassoon repair and tuning at the Fox factory in the US and flute-making at the Mateki workshop in Tokyo and Higashimatsuyamatze.

Wolfgang built a close relation with the Woodwind clinic in Memphis TN, with Alvin Sweeney and James Keyes. This led to him becoming the US Agent for Moosmann bassoons and Kreul Oboes. Wolfgang and Birgit Pfeiffer formed a new company in Copenhagen, Lohff & Pfeiffer, in 1986. Since then, they have been the factory agent for Buffet Clarinets, Schreiber Bassoons and Keilwerth Saxophones in Denmark. Wolfgang has worked as a consultant to both Buffet Crampon and Leblanc, in their French factories.

Their high quality overhauls and customization, has led to them working with almost every Scandinavian and German Orchestra. Players from orchestras such as Cleveland, Metropolitan Opera NY, La Scala di Milano, Santa Cecilia di Roma have all worked closely with L & P.
