Performance History

While a student, Dr. Druhan was fortunate to be able to participate in many professional ensembles in Mississippi, Louisiana, Ohio, and Indiana.  These include Baton Rouge Little Theater, Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Baton Rouge, Ohio Light Opera, Sorg Opera, Whitewater Opera, Baton Rouge Symphony, Acadiana Symphony, and Natchez Opera.

After winning a position with the U.S. Army Band, “Pershing’s Own” and moving to Washington D.C., she began performing for the Hal Leonard Recording Series and for Warner Brothers at Omega Studios in Maryland, making several recordings of band and orchestral literature.  While in the TUSAB Ceremonial unit, she was able to audition for the solo Eb clarinet spot with the “Pershing’s Own” Concert Band and moved to that position in 2001.

In 2002, Dr. Druhan accepted her position at Texas A&M University-Commerce and quickly got involved with ensembles in that region as well.  She is a regular member with the Dallas Wind Symphony after auditions in 2003.  Since around the same time, she has performed with the Shreveport Symphony, Shreveport Opera, East Texas Symphony, and Rockwall Symphony.  In addition, she has performed as a member of ensembles at several conferences, including Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic (2006), the International Double Reed Society (2008, 2009), and the World Saxophone Congress (2009).

Dr. Druhan has performed as a soloist in many states, in Puerto Rico, and in Germany.  Her appearances have included conferences such as Texas Music Educators Association, CBDNA Southwest Regional Conference, the OU Clarinet Symposium, and the ICA ClarinetFest (2006, 2008, and 2010).  She has appeared as a soloist with almost every ensemble at TAMU-C including Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Chorale, and Percussion Ensemble.

She has been a member of several chamber ensembles, most recently with Triforia Winds which has performed premieres of works by Morales and Hansen, and also with Duo Renard which has also premiered a piece by Hansen.  Her most recent chamber performance was the World Premiere of Ben Stonaker's Lachrymose for clarinet/bass clarinet, violin, and viola. This was presented for the ClarinetFest 2010 in Austin Texas.

Dr. Druhan has made CD recordings with Hal Leonard Recordings, Warner Brothers, Dallas Wind Symphony, Ohio Light Opera, CCM with Eugene Corporon, and LSU with Frank Wickes.  She has appeared on radio as a member of the Dallas Wind Symphony woodwind trio.
